Medical Aesthetics – Where Innovation, Medicine and Health & Beauty Unite

Where Innovation, Medicine and Health & Beauty Unite

Few things are as exciting or innovative as the medical aesthetics industry. Over the last two decades the medical aesthetics sector and market has experienced rapid expansion thanks in part to an endless array of innovative non-surgical services and procedures, paired with an increased demand for non-invasive health and beauty treatments.

The abundance of advances made within the last 15 years have allowed the medical aesthetics industry to surpass the plastic surgery industry, largely because treatments are much less evasive, are often times considerably more affordable and are comparable and safer than their surgical counterparts.

BOTOX and lasers have been at the forefront of this growing industry, however the introductions of radio frequency, ultrasound, thermal and light therapies have helped increase demand for medical aesthetic procedures.

Add to this the advances that have been made with injectables. Only 15 years ago BOTOX was brought to market much to the pleasure of actresses and other Beverly Hills elite. Fast-forward a decade and a half later, and we have a variety of injectables specifically designed to enhance, plump, contour and refinetargeted areas of the face. Hyaluronic acid fillers are among the most popular, and are used in one of the fastest growing procedures, lip fillers.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is the filler of choice when it comes to lips because HA is a naturally occurring sugar the body produces on its own However, as we age the amount of HA our bodies generate decreases. HA fillers naturally plump without making the treated area hard or tough. When use on the lips they also provide a smoothing effect contouring away any wrinkles or fine lines that occur around the mouth.

The future for the medical aesthetics industry is also looking very promising with skin tightening procedures and stem cell injections poised to dominate the market in the coming years. Combining multiple aesthetic procedures for maximized results is another trend that is expected to continue to grow.
Patients can combine microneedling and Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy for the Vampire Facelift one of the most in demand procedures in Hollywood.

When it comes the body, combining Cryo Contoring and Lipo Laser treatments is being dubbed the non-surgical tummy tuck, offering patients comparable results without surgery or long recovery times.

Now you know why I’m so excited about the medical aesthetics industry. Visit regularly to stay up-to-date on new trends and breakthroughs.
